Cardinal's Wharf

The main reason for our weekend in London was to attend Rory's christening. I think because it was so long after his birth it was a low key event, only his family, ourselves and the godparents (D&F) being present. And the vicar of course who conducted the service! So grandson#1 is now properly Rory Peter Jack!

In the afternoon we had an unexpected treat as D&F (very close friends of daughter#1 and her husband) invited us for drinks at this amazing house. It is sandwiched between the Globe and Tate Modern.  D&F are lucky enough to house-sit occasionally for the owners. Apparently the owners bought it when the whole area was very much a wasteland. We sat chatting and drinking mulled wine in the library with crowds passing by outside taking photos, and waving to Rory as he sat in the window waving out.

I took so many photos but decided for the main blip this image taken on the incredible rooftop patio. In the background you can see St Paul's across the river and also the Millennium Bridge on the left. The extra shows a more panoramic view with Tate Modern on the left. In the other direction you could see the Globe with the Shard in the distance.
