Leafless birch

I've probably blipped this birch tree more than any other subject, mostly in spring and autumn when its leaves are constantly changing. It's now lost all its leaves, but the trunk and branches still provide a focus in the garden. The sun only reaches it for a short period now that it's so low, and it's only the top part of the garden that gets any light. But I'm now looking forward to the day when the sun returns, usually late January.

There was ice on the cars this afternoon when we were leaving, for the first time this winter.
