She lives!

Dear Diary,

I stored last year's Amaryllis on the cellar stairs all year and repotted it a couple of weeks ago not expecting much but she surprised me.  (Don't ask me why I say "she"!)  Every day there is a bit more growth and now she is even starting another leaf.  I'm thrilled.  Whether she will offer up a lovely flower remains to be seen but her resurrection is a gift in and of itself.

Yesterday was quite mild with lots of lovely melting and I busied myself with present wrapping.  Lots more to do but it is a start.  Off to do numerous errands today.  Much colder but no snow is forecast for the next several days.  Hooray!
