A Victorian Christmas 1
The Master of the House takes a keen interest in the Royal Family and is often found emulating ideas introduced by Prince Albert. Having heard how the Prince had a decorated tree set up for Christmas 1841 in Windsor Castle, the Master just had to have one for himself. As usual with these things, it was left to the Maids to manange his purchase into the house. The Cook tried to advise, but I think they all wondered how they would ever get it up to the first floor drawing room. let alone whether there was any room for it there!
A scene from outside of my 1/12th scale (1inch to 1 foot) Doll's House Shop. The tree was made from parts of a garland, and over the next few weeks, time and energy permitting, it may find itself stood up in the aformentioned drawing room and even decorated.
