BRITANNIA BANQUET

Today is St. Andrews Day - the National Day of Scotland - so . . .

We set off this morning for a 5 hour drive to watch the horse racing at Musselburgh in Scotland.
Course inspection to see if racing goes ahead at 08.30. Ring on the way to be told there will be another course inspection at 10.30.

Arrive at 11.00 to be told there will be another inspection at 12.00.
Guess what - another inspection at 13.00.
Three horses arrive in the parade ring at 13.00. At 13.10 the meeting is abandoned !!!
Time for Plan B.
Think quickly - 30 minutes later we arrive at the Royal Yacht Britannia for a tour and afternoon tiffin!!! How the other half live.

Then which image to Blip ??? The racecourse or Britannia ??? I selected this one which shows the banqueting suite on-board. A dining table fit for, and used by, royalty.

It has been a long but beautiful day. Sadly Boro end the day by losing 3-2 to a poor team in the Championship - we could have gone top of the league !
