Scotney Old Castle
Hooray! A shot taken with the Panasonic for the first time in a while. We visited the National Trust Scotney (New) Castle near Lamberhurst in Kent to see house set out for the "Hussey Family Christmas" on Christmas Eve 1872. Scotney (New) Castle was built between 1835 to 1843 to replace the Old Castle shown in the blip which was built as a fortified manor house some time between 1478-1480.
Great reflections on a still day. After visiting the house and the cafe we went for a walk around the Estate Grounds in the gathering afternoon gloom.
The visit to Scotney was bookended by more stressful times as this morning we had a printer failure caused by a paper jam which resulted in the printheads becoming misaligned which I was not able to resolve. Nor was I able to resolve it this evening despite trying every step given online and in the manual. I've resorted to emailing Canon to ask for their help, otherwise it'll have to be a new printer. You can't do without one nowadays.
On top of that we discovered yesterday that the shower tray had been leaking for a while. We thought there may be a leak but when I looked under the tray the area we thought was leaking was bone dry. Then, with the aid of a head torch and some Yoga style body contortions we saw the drips. Of course, it was in an inaccessible location at the back corner of the shower. It seems like the sealant or grouting has moved so I've stripped the sealant off around the area, and regrouted and am waiting for the grout to dry before reapplying the sealant. I've no faith that this will work, it may mean having to pull off all the sealant around the tray and start over again.
