Native NZ onion
This was the 2nd day of the Nature Photography trip down south, and here we were crossing the Nevis Range, and had just driven down from Duffers Crossing, the highest (so the sign said) public road in New Zealand. It certainly was wonderfully scenic, and fascinating too, to boot.
These bulbinellas, or NZ native onion, had only just started flowering, and were a bright mass of gold.
