One of our fvourite dog walking spots is over the Hawea River, which is accessed by a foot bridge. They are now making this more accessible to people in wheelchairs; pushing prams; ebikes etc by making this access ramp so people don’t have to walk up a number of steps. They are doing a great job, and making it as attractive as possible. I will take photos when they have finished it. I even enjoyed the builders’ selection of music they were playing!
This afternoon, we went to the Elmslie Rest Home Christmas party. Jill’s 97 year old mother lives there, so we are frequent visitors there, and Frida is a favourite of some of the residents. I had to take a picture of the “sweets” trolley, as it reminded me of the 1950s with all the selection of food. They had aready passed around sandwiches and savouries!
They used beautiful old teacups and saucers and these cake plates.
The staff are just amazing, and care for our frail elderly so well. I respect them and the work they do.
