The remains of the day

We had great fun this morning dashing between the poolside and shelter a couple of times as the rain showers continued to keep us on our toes. After lunch young L went down for a nap - I think he was exhausted from all the excitement! Later in the afternoon we ventured back down to the beach and had a great time and I even swam in the sea - well almost. Thankfully rain stopped play and we made a dash for a mini cave in the volcanic wall at the back of the beach. All this while the cloud formations were magnificent and we could watch the showers moving across the mountains of Lanzarote and rolling on towards the next island of Fuerteventura. The lifeguards patrolled the empty sea before going home, the umbrellas were soon dismantled and put away for another day and the sunset was magnificent.
