The first day of your advent calendar, and with all of the children away, time to reflect that getting chocolate advent calendars in the past wasn’t ‘just for them’ after all.

In other news related to opening things, there has been a sudden surge of Tory MPs turning up for photo opportunities at food banks in their constituency. Leaving aside for a second the sickening hypocrisy behind this, which feels like a man with a string of domestic abuse convictions he is entirely unapologetic about rocking up to cut the ribbon at a women’s refuge, and complimenting them on their good work - there are so many of these happening close together it must have been organised by central office.

Do they really think people are that stupid?

And worse, are they right?
