Stuck on the A20

L and I got stuck on the A20 for 4 hours on our way home from swimming today.

No one was hurt. A lorry with a cherry picker on the back had left its arm up and it hit a pedestrian bridge, taking a chunk out of it. We were about 10-20 cars behind the front of the road block.

L was brilliant. She slept for the first 45 minutes then we sang songs, had a walk down the motorway, chatted to lorry drivers and people walking their dogs and then had a FaceTime with my parents. Eventually they coned a lane off in order to clear the road while they decide if the bridge is to be condemned.

Not quite the afternoon I’d had planned.
