A trio for the season

I bought this amaryllis plant at Whole Foods a couple of weeks ago. It was a real bargain(if anything in that store could actually be a bargain). Three promising buds in an elegant, tall glass container, $12, I bought the plant happily.

The buds seemed fitting to post today on our National Day of Mourning for 41, President George H.W. Bush. I was certainly not a big fan when he was in the White House, but the contrast with the current occupant is absolutely glaring. Today is historic as well with a president, 43, eulogizing his dad who was also a president. Flowers seemed to be the right blip to bid Poppy Bush, a lover of the great state of Maine, farewell.

For the Record,
This day came in cold and sunny.

All hands missing the dignity of the Presidency under the despicable and awkward 45.
