Yo! Cabot

Thanks for all the kind words and ratings yesterday. Much appreciated.

Today has been grey. Went out this morning looking for large expanses of standing flood water to blip in the Batheaston area but ultimately didn't find anything satisfactory - there was very little light about which didn't help.

Then had to take Sara and Stan over to Cabot Circus in Bristol shopping this afternoon. I hate shopping. I sulked all the way there and all the way back, not helped by having to drive through horrible traffic. Having said that, if you can ignore the shops and the people, I do think Cabot Circus is rather nice architecturally. It has lots of levels and people have to flow both up and down as well as around the space. Plus it is set off rather nicely by the curved clear roofs. The whole thing has a nice open feel about it and there's a lot of fresh air.

I find it hard to believe that Bath's new development, Southgate, will be anywhere near as nice to be honest. Bath planners seem to have taken a much more conservative "must fit in with Georgian Bath" kind of approach. Anyway, maybe I'm being unfair.

This blip was taken from the top floor of Cabot Circus - I wish I'd taken my tripod with me, to try and get something with blurred people (maybe a blip for another day?) but even without that I think it works quite well. The roofs almost give it a fish-eye effect.
