A New Friend

He lives in the area and I only just met him today. I was out and about and discovered him and his little friend (a Shetland pony) in a field not far from the hospital. I must say he had on a cooler coat than what I did, but I am guessing mine is more water resistant.

It was a very good day today in spite of some serious rain showers. I had a late breakfast with a friend and then wandered around town a bit. I went to my favorite book store and gave Oz, the bookstore cat, some scritches and bought some fun cards. I ended up at the library writing letters and cards for a couple hours.

On my way home I stopped by the cove and ran into a couple fellow birders. They told me about the Christmas bird count happening this year. It will actually be on Dec 16 so I think I will be able to participate.

I added another new bird to my life list today, a red-necked phalarope.
