Glade

I don't know the exact definition of a glade, but this felt like it could be one. I joined the super early bird walk in the forest, along trails made by elephants, littered with their dung but perhaps fortunately, no live animals. The skills required to birdwatch in the forest are insane, as it relies mostly on singling out calls from the general cacophony. I am constantly stunned by the ability of some of the scientists present for these biodiversity surveys.

Actually, I think a glade might be a smaller area of sunlight filtering onto a widening of a path through a forest, perhaps with some dank-looking vegetation in the corners.
