Desecration
Most of the day spent travelling. A good journey. Four hours on the train. All worked well for a change. More relaxing than driving and cheaper than the cost of fuel for a 400 mile round trip.
Another day of mixed emotions, walking past my parents house where they lived from 1959 til 2009 and the only home I knew in all those years.
As the link shows https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/3396173 the house was on the edge of Wellington, surrounded by fields. Now it’s a building site. What would they have made if it all?
We did a quick trip around building sites of Wellington on the way to the station. None of the houses being built have any merit. Crowded in, tall and out of context with the surroundings. At the top of Haygate Road there used to be s lovely view of the Wrekin. Blocked now by a building of such monstrosity that it beggars belief that someone thought it was an acceptable design and secondly that it was a good idea to build it where they did.
