Christmas is coming

I don't 'do' decorations but I put this up yesterday because I wanted to photograph it for my Christmas cards and thought I may as well leave it up now.
This was given to me by a friend of my Mother's in 1947 - she told Mum 'it was expensive - 2/6 (12½p) - but I think Valerie is a little girl who will look after it' I was 7 at the time. It is made of cardboard and the pieces stand up by pushing up labelled tabs in the base to hold them. I love it for its simplicity and the lovely detail in the figures. In the 71 years I've had it I have only lost one small figure of a lamb - so Mrs Fairey's faith in me was well founded, I think!
