Dicking about with sparklers

The plan today was to get a blip of one of the heart shaped sparklers that I bought Roz as part of her Valentines bag. I experimented with some star shaped ones we had so as not to waste the new ones. I'm glad I did as I just didn't get the effect I was aiming for even with the narrowest apperture, lowest ISO, and my flapping a bit of card in front of the lens to cut the light out. I might have to dig out my polarising filter and try again some time but I suspect I'll never manage to get the effect I'm looking for as the sparklers burn too hot. Still I though I'd blip it anyway.

It was quite a good day today, I've spoken to my mum and she's starting to feel a bit better after getting a really nasty chest infection in the hospital last week. That was a huge relief as I was getting a bit worried.

Also my grading seemed to go ok even despite the fact I think I might have cracked a couple of bones in my foot (not that there's anything that could be done about it even if I have.) I'll find out on Monday whether I've got my yellow tabs or not.
