Chaenomeles

The reliable japonica Japanese quince is starting to flower already. So good to see the bright colour in the dark depths of December.

I'm about to head through to the airport to pick up my sister who is staying for the weekend. And I've just seen Cameraman off on the train for his long journey south to Ashford with a suitcase of presents for his family. Trains, planes and automobiles.

Tonight along to a friend's house for a pot luck supper. Not really pot luck as she has sensibly planned who's to bring what so we don't have 12 lemon meringue pies or something along those lines. I might have to put myself in quarantine but I'm not missing out on a jolly evening.
