Angus meets me outside the Stevenson building at 7:30, but our sauna plans unravel because it’s not opening till 10. We have a cup of tea, then he heads to library and I to St Vincent Plaza.

At midday, it’s time to go to Cucumber’s Xmas lunch. Megan joins us, as does Anna. It’s a ramen bar on Queen St, with excellent food. Meg and I are at the end of the table, which makes it hard to join in the conversation.

Sauna take 2, mid afternoon. It’s good and relaxing. Angus is making progress with revision. Both he and Megan have exam tomorrow morning. Sacrilege.

And now, the second xmas party of the day - RoS Glasgow. It’s a bizarre 3 course pancake experience. Not unpleasant, but ridiculously heavy on carbs. I abstain from alcohol, because I’ve decided to go home tonight..,.

.... where there’s a water problem. I’m up and down the hill in the rain with my torch. I diagnose a frost related leak, but discover a pump issue during my travels. There’ll be work to do tomorrow.
