Lost and now found.

I was cleaning up in the garden today as its the season for red back spiders and I like to see if there are any around before summer really strikes. Both the cat and the dog are known to have tackled these dangerous spiders so I like to get in first and clear them out.

All my plants are in pots as we have a roof top garden and spiders like to make homes in and around the pots. Its a bit hard to describe but its actually more like a big open verandah with a roof.

It's a great space where I used to do a lot of art work and consequently lots of bits and pieces have gravitated outwards and gotten mixed in with the pot plants.

That's what happened to these little clay figures. I made them at University in first year and by the time I was in my Honours year anything I had done in First year was looked down upon and basically discarded.

I don't remember the idea properly now, but it was to do with metamorphosis and we fired them with the Raku method which was quite exciting.

What struck me today was how lovely this little face is. It's only the size of my thumb and I haven't looked at it for years but I felt quite proud of it when I rediscovered it today.
