Boring Narcissistic Headless Bird
I took a quick walk down town this morning with Jnr Snr and strolled by the river to see if there were any bird-shot possibilities. The geese, ducks and pigeons were nowhere to be seen and the place was overrun with gulls. Given that I think Bakewell is one of the most land-locked places in the country, I am not sure how long it takes them to get here and how long they stay (assuming they reside by the sea at some point). There must be something here that gulls like.
I have never thought of them the best of subjects compared to other birds, but snapped a few anyway. When I got back it seemed that all of them had no heads! Guess they are more of downward-looking gliders than the usual species I snap. Look at this narcissistic one checking his feathers are straight as he swoops low over the water. Ponce.
The gig last night was AMAZING. I think I last saw Ned's Atomic Dustbin 20 years ago this week, and it was if no time had past at all. Well, apart from the fact that the fringes of the mosh-pit slowed down after about seven or eight songs as we realised that we can't quite keep it up any more.... :-\ I got back at about half midnight and off to sleep at about two.....well worth it. With The Wonderstuff, Jesus Jones and PWEI coming up in three weeks time, Christmas is a definite third this month for me in the excitement stakes.
