Tasmanian Devil

Today we visited the port of Burnie in Tasmania.  We traveled to the Wings Wildlife Park a few miles from the center of town, where we met all sorts of fascinating local fauna, including this Tasmanian Devil, and several of his friends and relatives.  Goodness they have horrid table manners!  We watched as they tore apart a wallaby leg for lunch in a flash of sharp teeth, squeals and snarls.  We also saw an adorable koala, kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, kookaburras, black swans, and -- oddly -- meerkats.

Extra is the cutest little 5 month-old wallaby who was orphaned, and is now being raised by loving human hands.

Today is a very special day -- 40 years ago I married the love of my life, and now I'm looking forward to the next 40 wonderful years with him!
