Carskey Bay with Damaged Dunes
8.7 and sunny. Moderate NW/WNW breeze.
Grocery shopping.
We drove the ten miles or so South to Southend then followed the road round past Dunaverty beach and Kiel to Carskey Bay. No seals on the rocks at Kiel today. Tide high. Waves breaking and rushing up the beach. We had to scamper out of their advance two or three times. The dunes had been noticeably damaged by the recent Easterly weather systems leaving a sheer face of sand at the car park end of the beach and the slope down to the beach itself damaged and now very steep.
We walked along to the far end and back.
The beach was empty again so Fergus was let of his lead early with the new sand wall keeping him confined to the beach for lots of running and running.
Later Apothecary7 was painting.
BBC Radio 2 was on in the background.
