Percussion, Dance, and Song
Twice yearly the Härnösand Percussion Ensemble puts on a concert. All the performers are students at the local upper secondary school, or the local community college. They are all amateurs, aged 16 - 21, but the performance is always very professional.
You can understand why we weren't going to allow a cold to stop us seeing this performance and once in place we were not disappointed.
In this number a half-dozen marimbas provided the music to a haunting Björk song, while dancers moved in the half-darkness. Magic!
Jan's picture shows one of the final pieces, with 16 musicians, 1 dancer, and Johan, their teacher and leader.
Prior to the concert we'd been to the cinema to see "Crimes of Grindelwald". It's a while since I was at Saturday afternoon movies but the days are short so darkness had fallen as we walked in at 3 o'clock. My brain is not working at its best just now, or maybe I just wasn't in the mood, but I found the plot incomprehensible.
So it's a good thing the percussion concert was so uplifting.
