Windows 7 Clean Install

Today I did something for the first time. It's the first time I've had to do a clean install of Windows.

When I came back from holiday my computer blew at start up. Apparently the Graphics card had blown. I duly bought and installed a new card and the computer went, but was taking 10 minutes to boot....not good. Windows had also been corrupted.

Attempted a restore, but all restore points had been wiped.

Attempted a Windows Repair but that didn't cure the problem.

So, bit the bullet and did a complete clean install, which means scrubbing everything on the hard drive and starting again.

Surprisingly, it wasn't difficult, and this photo was taken shortly after I'd finished. Now it boots in under a minute.

Now I have to do all the Windows updates, reload all my programs and restore my data backup. It could take a long time, but at least I'm up and running again.
