Pie and peas for a pound

Yesterday my friend made a 200 miles round trip for a football match that was called off. The pitch was frozen. Apparently if the ref can't get his car keys into the earth it's time to get back on the bus. Pie and peas for a pound was on offer. He could have just had the peas. No veggie option. Life is hard in small club football land.
