Ancient Causeway

This is an old roadway that used to serve Nab End Quarry, high on the moors above Halifax in West Yorkshire.
The stone from the quarry (long since closed) built many of the walls, farms and houses round about.
This photo shows how the stone flags have been worn away by the metal rims of the horse-drawn carts that used to transport the stone.
