remember these?

Had lunch today in a tea shop that had lots of old memorabilia hanging from the ceiling.

From the 60's to the 80's the Dunlop Maxply racquet was the iconic brand. It was the one to have. My tennis and squash racquets felt so good to hold, the weight balance was perfect, and balls pinged off the taught strings with satisfying ease. Too bad they didn't go where they were supposed to. I worshiped these racquets.

And the wooded racquets needed a press, of course, to stop them from warping. I remember when my Mom (a county badmington player) got the first metal racquet that didn't need a press - that was amazing.
