Winter trees

It has been a rather glorious day today with sunshine around for most of the time.  The day started with me looking out across the field to see 11 pheasants slowly making their way across it.  

I then hurried off after breakfast for this mornings group walk.  We strolled along towards the River Otter passing a mobile blacksmith ie a van with the equipment for shoeing horses in the back before heading inland along lanes and out onto various commons. We were treated to historic information concerning the site of a medieval mill and the local farmhouses.  It was an interesting varied walk and we were back in time for lunch.
