Wide Wednesday . . . SOMETHING OLD

By accident I found one of the oldest places of European settlement in my area.  Annabel and I went to Wakefield for our weekly coffee date.  It is a little town south of Richmond and was established as a settlement in 1843.  St Johns Anglican church in the picture was built in 1846 and is the second oldest surviving church in New Zealand.
One gravestone was memorable:

John Gibbs
who died August 12th 1904
in his 100th year
One of the earliest pioneers
of the colony and the first man
to turn a sod in this cemetery.

He was born in Suffolk, UK.  There are some interesting old wooden buildings down the side streets which would be worth a camera walk in future.  Thanks again to Bob for keeping this challenge going.
