Christmas Harlow Carr
Spent a very pleasant afternoon at Harlow Carr RHS gardens.
We had lunch in Betty's, it was very quiet, no queues. Our usual sandwiches and tea but augmented by a bowl of chips, who'd have thought Betty's would have chips!
It was dull and quite cool but we enjoyed seeing the immaculately tended garden ready for the new life in spring. There were lots of new wicker statues, hares on bikes and dinosaurs to be illuminated no doubt in 'Glow' which is open from Thursday to Sunday evenings. You may recall our group sang at the opening on Dec 1st.
I liked these subtle stars and the gourds and chillies in the green house have had the addition of a simple Christmas tree structure with glass fruits and vegetables as ornaments. They were selling these in the shop and admit I was tempted to buy a couple.
A little disappointed that the trees down the entrance steps were bauble less as this is where I got the idea for my garden tree baubles.
A nice afternoon with my friend rounded off with more tea and a mince pie before coming home.
