Senior Tree

I hoped to find a hoary old tree for Wide Wednesday - this oak was the best I could do, surrounded as it is by its spindly younger cousins. Even at its widest, my lens could only capture the lowest branches. It's probably not all that old really, as this whole forest has been logged at least once since the European settlers arrived But now it's a nature reserve, so I guess instead of logging we'll have to rake the forest floor, and the trees have less to fear!
