My brother is coming to the end of a holiday in China and I am reminded of my visit to China in 1980.
In 1980 HMS Antrim was the first ship to sail up the Yangtze River since the HMS Amethyst incident of 1947.
In 1980 China had not been westernised or built up as it is today and in the words of the song there were nine million bycycles in Beijing.
A great country, great times with great friends.
