The Spare Room (Backblip)

This is ridiculous. I am writing this on Sunday night but it is about a photo taken last Tuesday. I have let another week go by without managing to upload my photos to blip. Same story really, my phone no longer has the app which allows me to upload instantly and I never seem to get round to connecting my phone or my camera to the laptop to download the photos. I even got to the stage today where I thought, I need a bit of time to upload my blips. Not sure it is supposed to become something on the to-do list, but there you go, perhaps it is just a (long) phase.

Tonight, I have a little bit of time and the computer and the adapter and guess what, the camera is still in the pocket of my fleece which is in the boot of the car, and it is 10pm and I'm in my jammies and it is white with snow outside so I ain't going out to get it. So, instead of a week's worth of upload, here in all it's majestic glory is my wonderful photograph from Tuesday night, which I snapped at the last minute at 11.30 something when I was about to turn out the light and go to sleep.

Anyway, we are in the spare room at the moment in an attempt to try and really crack the sleeping problems/habits of our two little ones. The spare room is on the top floor, directly opposite their room giving them little excuse to be scared with no-one near by and fewer excuses for us not to get out of our beds in the middle of the night and take the nighttime wanderers back to theirs. So far, so good - for the middle of the night issues anyway. Most nights at least one, and usually both of the boys, get up and come through for some reason or another but it has (usually) only been once each and they have always gone happily back to their beds and stayed there, which has never been possible before. So, as I say, so far, so good - no little ones climbing into our bed and making themselves comfortable for the remainder of the night.

The getting to sleep phase - not so great. The first week we were up there the older one was on anti-biotics for a skin infection and he seemed to be quite content to get to sleep on his own and fairly quickly. Not anymore. It is all high jinks and naughtiness and lets just say it ruins our evenings and tests our patience to the extreme. On we will press though, surely we can crack it in a month or so?!? Surely?!

So, the reason for the photo of our little spare room bedside lamp (which I really quite love). I've usually slept on the none lamp side of the bed - I rarely read and am usually first asleep so it makes sense for my lovely husband to have a lamp on his side and for me not to have one. Very occasionally I feel the need to swop sides and I end up sleeping on the lamp side of the bed. I always forget though what a pain it is....just as I am drifting off to sleep there is always a winge from the other side "are you not forgetting something? With that side comes responsibility" and I have to wake up, stretch over and switch the light out. Bah!
