Celebrate
Quiet but focussed morning then an over-catered and sparsely attended meeting in a freezing room....not ideal. The group doesn't feel like a productive one or a team that's gelled, but I did meet someone nice from Stirling and we worked out we had a number of mutual friends.
Later we formed the advanced party for the office Christmas 'do'. We tried a new format this year - rather than a lunch we went for drinks and nibbles and had a fabulous turnout. Chatted to lots of people - all in very good spirits - then headed home as M and his friend A were coming to stay over on their drive home from John O'Groats.
We chatted over G&Ts then headed out to Field for dinner and chatted there, then came home and chatted some more! Talked about their driving adventure, the science of rally car navigating and classic car renovations and then started on my flat refurbishment. Turns out A is pretty experienced in doing this and M always loves planning stuff on squared paper! - so what started as a general chat ended up with measurements, poking holes in walls and balancing on stepladders.
Half terrifying, half exciting. I just need them to bring their builders up and come and sort it for me!
