Before, after and in between

At the renovated Caledonian Hotel this afternoon, which has become a Waldorf Astoria hotel following a refurb. Splendid it is too.

The occasion: a charity afternoon tea for the children's cancer charity, "It's Good to Give", run by the marvellous Lynne McNicoll. My friend Alison of the Edinburgh Cake Ladies had organised the selling of tickets to many of the cake ladies: there were about 40 of us there. A lovely way to celebrate the start of the Christmas season.
