P*ss-up in a . . .

I am having a little holiday in Suffolk and am staying at a brewery, if only to test my organisational skills. I have made a tour of the charity shops and conclude that all the frocks in this part of the world have rather fussy front details.

Travelling here by train today I noticed just how leafless all the trees are. When did that happen? OK, so perhaps I don't see as many trees these days as I did before I relocated to Chatham, but I am certain that the trees surrounding the church across the river from my office are not all bare. However, it did give me an opportunity to witness what I can only assume is mistletoe – large exuberantly succulent-looking droopy spheres of foliage high up in otherwise bare trees. Not a thing I ever remember noticing before.
