Closing circle
I just woke from a 2 1/2 hour nap - my first priority after our two-day choir retreat. It was a weekend filled with singing and community and much laughter.
I love this choir and feel truly blessed to be a part of it, not only for the excellence we strive for in the music, but for the friendship and connection. These are women you can count on when you need help or support, when you need a shoulder to cry on or to celebrate your accomplishments and joy.
We always have a closing circle at the end of retreat when anyone can share an experience either from the weekend or other personal events. Then we form an inner circle starting with the most long-standing members and ending with the newest, who are then celebrated by the larger circle. Even though I'm always exhausted by this point in the weekend, I wouldn't miss this part of it for anything. It's a lovely way to end our weekend of hard work.
Our concerts are in three weeks. Still much work to do, but we will be great!
