Despite a late night (2.30am) woke up in reasonable form. In fact, I was the first up, I was convinced at 8.30am I'd be the last, so I had a leisurely lie on the front lawn, with a cup of tea, reading the hobbit. There could barely been a more perfect to do that!
Eventually the troops arose, we breakfasted, and after much mucking around went on a nice walk on the Te Araroa trail that comes through this area. Hot and sunny, but lovely.
Then down to the river, theoretically for a swim and a BBQ, but the NW got up, gale-force I'd say. Crazy. So we retreated to the house for the BBQ, some relaxation and a walk around the farm. Nice to wander freely through the grounds and sheds with a few others, lots of history here, like these old signs. Just love them.
Back to the farm house, a pool challenge, BBQ lamb for dinner and a not so early night again.
Oh well, lots of fun and merriment all round. In fact, just hilarious ;-)
