Watchdog

On some weekends there's a black Labrador visiting the old man. The dog is never taken for a walk, but is just put out on leash on the doorstep where he sits quietly. Today when I let Maija out, they noticed each other immediately. 
To my surprise Maija's interest didn't last long. She came in, but the dog kept watching us for a long time. I had the door open, and he kept an eye on me when I walked in and out.
