A last look back along Ullswater

What a difference a day makes. Gone is the heavy rain and gales replaced by clear blue skies. At least we’re leaving the Lakes in lovely conditions, the scenery is at it’s winter’s best.

Most of the journey was fine until approaching London where things started to unravel as they usually do. An accident on the M11 near Cambridge closed the motorway both ways meaning continuing along the A1 and A1(M) to the M25. Whatever the frustrations it can’t be as bad as those involved in the collision.

As I write, we’re inching our way to the M25 junction along with everyone else who had planned to use the M11.
