Morning peril!

I was expecting either snow or rain this morning but when I looked out there was neither, so I set off with two of the ladies for a morning walk.

The sun was just rising and lighting the few clouds in the sky but we very quickly discovered that the paths, pavements and side roads were slick with black ice. We were more like old ladies who walk!

We had to alter our route and although once on the grassy paths it was better it was still very treacherous.

This view looking back over the village shows how attractive the sky looked but further down the valley in Bingley we could see mist hovering.

Leaving the fields we headed into the woods above Moor Edge and then the rain started.

I think we were all glad to get back but at least the rain had got rid of most of the ice by the time we were back in the village.

By 11.00 am the sun was out with no indication of what had gone before. I hope all you commuters in the UK got to work safely this morning!
