calm after frantic activity

When I arrived at the gym late this afternoon the pool was a frenzy of splashes and noise as the recreational and serious swimmers went about their water activities.

Now as the Y is shutting down for the evening everyone is being sent out. The pool very quickly quietens to and assume this smoothness and serenity... almost as if noone was here at all earlier
