Game Eggs

JohnEdward's theme for today's Mono Monday challenge is game.
During our walk this morning, Bella disturbed a quail sitting on its nest halfway up a bank by the road.  California quail were successfully introduced to N.Z. from North America in the 1860s to supply the demand for game birds. I love seeing and hearing them and their offspring in the garden and was pleased to see the sitting bird had returned to the nest when I checked later (without Bella).
