Today about 300 soldiers from The King's Royal Hussars (many of them from Hampshire) marched through the centre of Winchester to mark their return from service in Afghanistan. The Regiment has recently returned from a 6 month tour based around Lashkar Gah, in the volatile Helmand Province.
The Thanksgiving Service was held at the Cathedral. In attendance was Prince Michael of Kent and assorted local bigwigs; hence the increased police presence. As you can tell it was good humoured.
I focussed on the policeman with everything and everyone else slightly out of focus to keep attention on him. I think the smiling lady noticed me.
