Passing the Shipyard (UTA)

8.0C with bright spells and cloudy spells. Moderate Southerly breeze.

Fergus and I went for a walk out to the shipyard after lunch. As we were walking out Low Askomill I saw the Pilot boat heading out. From the top of the hill at the shipyard I could see the Pilot boat waiting at the outer end of the channel for an approaching cargo ship. When the ship got nearer the Pilot boat went alongside briefly, then with the Pilot on board ship it came racing back into the loch and across to the harbour.

We wandered about the old shipyard and on the shore until the ship came through the channel and rounded the shipyard on its way across the loch to the harbour.

By the time we got back to the Esplanade the ship (UTA) was coming alongside at the inner side of the new quay.
