reed bunting
I stayed sensible and paced myself at last nights party so no headache this morning. I've been requesting no fuss for my retirement and I was happy it was kept to a light touch presentation and a nice golf present which will be well used. A hearty breakfast this morning and I took the opportunity to pop into Old Moor on the way home from York. It was a good chance to blow away the cobwebs but I was a little unlucky to have just missed a good sighting of bearded tits a few hundred metres ahead. I was happy yo capture the reed bunting though and enjoyed watching plenty of bullfinches.
Tonight is a "surprise dinner" for me with some already retired ex colleagues. I sussed it when another ex colleague let something slip and I just needed to join all the dots to get the answer. It's a shame all the intricate and devious plans that had been made were shattered but I don't know where we are going and it will be good to see them. I can also remind them they still haven't got one over on me :-)
