The Lozarithm Lens

Smokey 1059 hr (Wednesday 19th December 2018)

I had to be very patient taking this picture in the conservatory as Smokey was sitting defiantly with his back to me, payback for the flea treatment I'd given him in the morning. I had to walk away with the camera left behind all set up so I could take him by surprise when I tiptoed back. It was a tricky exposure as well with strong backlight and dark foreground, requiring some rather unsuccessful tweaking afterwards.
I hadn't noticed that the bookshelf speakers were upside down until studying this picture. I'll have to stand on my head to listen in future.
I finished sorting through my sock drawers there, and added an old spare DVD player to the hi-fi set-up before returning to the study.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Bob Dylan - Desolation Row (Take 5 Remake, Complete) (recorded 2-3 August 1966, 2000-0330 hr, Columbia Studios, New York NY)(Soundcloud link)
Bob Dylan recorded lots of versions of Desolation Row between 29 July and 4 August 1966, and settled on a version accompanied just by some additional Spanish guitar and bass for the album, and would perform it solo when playing it live that year, but on this unreleased overnight session he tried it out with a full band in support: Mike Bloomfield on electric guitar, Al Kooper on electric piano, Harvey Brooks on bass and Bobby Gregg on drums.
I've been playing through all the session takes on the Cutting Edge box set and today heard the final sessions for Highway 61 Revisited on CD8. I also listened to his acoustic and electric sets at Bristol's Colston Hall on 10 May 1966 this evening while preparing this blip. Both sets went down well with the untypically enlightened audience.
