Who am I?

Apparently I intrigued some by referring to the strange animal in my crib set. I had rejected him but by popular demand here he is, with centre stage. So, here is the question ... what is it?? To me it just seems out of keeping with the others. 

I knew I had posed this question once before on blip. After taking this shot I looked back to see what and when I had done this. Strangely enough, it was also on the 19th December! 2012 to be precise. I also didn't realise I had done a similar blip, with all the animals arranged around him. 

At that time I took a vote on suggestions. Now I have different blip friends so over to you. What are your suggestions? (We had some strange ones last time!)
